Championing the Green Revolution: FREEE’s Advocacy for a Sustainable Future
At FREEE Recycle Limited, we’re not just passionate about creating innovative products from recycled tyres; we’re also deeply committed to advocating for a greener future. We believe that true sustainability requires not only innovative solutions but also a robust policy framework and widespread public awareness. This is why we actively engage in two key areas of advocacy:

Environmental Policy Framework Development:

We believe effective regulations are crucial to drive and mainstream sustainable tyre management practices. That’s why we actively collaborate with the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) in Nigeria, playing a critical role in shaping the country’s tyre sustainability policy. Our efforts focus on:

  1. Advocating for Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) policies: We actively push for legislation that holds tyre manufacturers and importers accountable for the end-of-life management of their products, promoting responsible production and consumption.
  2. Developing robust tyre collection and recycling systems: We work with policymakers to establish efficient and transparent systems for collecting and recycling discarded tyres, minimizing environmental impact and maximizing resource recovery.
  3. Promoting best practices and standards: We share our expertise and knowledge with government agencies to inform the development of effective regulations and ensure the highest standards for tyre recycling practices.
By actively working with policymakers, we seek to create a robust and forward-thinking regulatory environment that incentivizes and facilitates sustainable tyre management practices throughout Nigeria.

Environmental Sustainability Education and Awareness:

Beyond policy, true change requires shifting mindsets and behaviors. We partner with schools and NGOs to raise awareness about the importance of tyre recycling and environmental sustainability among the general public. Our initiatives include:

  1. Educational workshops and programs: We develop and deliver engaging workshops and programs for students of all ages, fostering a deeper understanding of tyre recycling and its positive impact on the environment.
  2. Community outreach campaigns: We organize awareness campaigns in local communities, disseminating information about the benefits of responsible tyre disposal and encouraging responsible consumer choices.
  3. Advocacy through media partnerships: We work with media outlets to raise public awareness about tyre sustainability issues and showcase FREEE’s innovative solutions as a model for the industry.
